The American University of Armenia (AUA), founded in 1991, is an institution of higher learning providing teaching, research, and service programs that prepare students and enable faculty and researchers to address the development needs of Armenia and the surrounding region sustainably. AUA offers graduate degree programs and conducts research in engineering, business, law, public health, public policy, and teaching english. In addition, AUA has centers focused on environmental conservation and rural development. AUA employs about 230 faculty and staff (170 fulltime and 60 visiting or part-time).
The Engineering Research Center (ERC) is part of the American University of Armenia’s College of Engineering. It has been conducting applied research for the past two decades. ERC´s research has focused on alternative energy, industrial systems, cyber security, computer aided design and manufacturing, and earthquake engineering.
Role of the organisation in the project:
P11 will be a coordinator of Armenian team and WP6 leader and take over the establishment of dissemination/ exploitation plan, collect contents, coordinate design and printing of promotional material and handbook and provide content for web-page; build strong partnership with P21. It will take part in WP7, prepare reports, communicate with P1, take part in iCo-op conference, all meetings and organise 4th meeting. In WP1 it will prepare e-surveys, analyse the results from industrial members, and trained during Best practices training (P4). In WP2 it will give testing feedback concerning learning environment. In WP3 with EU partners design and develop 3 modules, provide multilingual learning material, set up in-house remote labs, draw up manuals. In WP4 it will participate in training holding by P1 and P2, provide mentor and execute pilot training in-house and with P21 and for future trainers. In WP5 it will participate in evaluation and planning of activities after the project lifetime.
